Mercedes-Benz wear it pink to beat Breast Cancer

On Friday 28 October, staff at Mercedes-Benz in Orpington are planning a day of pink themed activity in support of Breast Cancer Campaign’s wear it pink day.

All staff, including the boys, will spend the day dressed in pretty pink outfits and donate £2 each to Breast Cancer Campaign. There will be a pink cake sale for staff and customers, as well as the chance to win a Mercedes SLK for the weekend with the insurance paid for! The black SLK which sports the number plate ‘breast,’ is the top prize of a raffle that will be taking place on the day, all to raise money for world class breast cancer research.

Sarah Sayers, Service Administrator at Mercedes-Benz and the organiser of the event said “We are passionate here about breast cancer; quite a few of our family members have suffered from the disease but have managed to survive because of the work done by charities like Campaign.”

“I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone dressed in pink! We hope to have a lot of fun and want to raise as much we can for such a good cause.”

Last year hundreds of thousands of people took part in wear it pink, raising a staggering £2.5 million to help improve survival rates for the one in eight women who experience breast cancer during their lifetime. Every year, some 48,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer and wear it pink helps to fund vital research into the disease which affects so many.

wear it pink is sponsored by Vanish, who have committed to raising an incredible £250,000 for the charity this year.

It’s time to beat breast cancer and for only £2 Breast Cancer Campaign challenge you to wear it pink on Friday 28 October, at work, at home or at school and help save lives. Visit www.wearitpink.co.uk or call 0800 107 3104 to register now.
