The National Theatre Bookshop has a superb new gift range featuring exclusive items to suit any budget, perfect for special presents or Christmas stocking fillers. There is an elegant, articulated DIY model of the War Horse Goose, devised by Sato Hisao and based on the original Handspring Puppet Company design. Perfect as a memento of the production or simply to be enjoyed as a classic piece of engineering, it’s the most popular object in the shop (pictured – £30). For a more extravagant gift there is also a limited edition, hand-made 2:1 scale puppet of the Goose who features in the hit show. It comes pre-assembled with all the details, functionality and personality of the original (£2,500).

Celebrated designer Sarah Campbell has created a silk scarf in a limited edition of 150 exclusively for the National. Printed in Italy, the unique hand-painted design features Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116 in her beautiful style and comes with a printed card, signed by Sarah, giving the edition number (pictured – £120).

Melody Rose’s stylised, upcycled tea cups, teapots and saucers now includes a range designed specifically for the National. This is vintage with edge: traditional bone china branded with realist illustrations and offbeat photography (£30-£50).

There are a whole host of gift ideas for children, including a selection of exclusive DVDs such as the recording of the National’s hit The Cat in the Hat (£8.99), plus a range of vintage children’s toys from French company Marc Vidal, perfect for stocking fillers.
