This year the Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show with Mitsubishi Shogun, Olympia, London
30 Oct-8 Nov and the Birmingham Ski and Snowboard Show with Tropicana Pure Premium Juice, NEC Friday 16-18 Oct will get off to a flying start.The shows will herald the start of the ‘98/’99 ski season – showcasing the newest products and designs for the slopes. This year is the 25 Anniversary of the highly successful London ski show.
The Main Slope feature has been created to incorporate a
number of exciting new additions to the Show, including the use of "real snow" for the first time. "Big Air", which has been created to mark the 25th Anniversary celebrations of the show, highlights the best and most exciting facets of winter and extreme sports action.It will feature the most innovative and cutting edge European and world class extreme skiers and snowboarders in breath-taking displays. Show visitors will also be able to benefit as international ski and snowboard instructors will be on hand giving expert tuition.
This year once again there is the chance to see the best international ski schools battle it out on the slope with the World Indoor Synchro Ski Championships. This is an energetic demonstration of the skill of precision skiing at its best.
The fashion show, which this year has moved to the balcony, will display the latest in hottest designs to be seen on and off the slopes this season. Ski fashion aficionados can watch at leisure, with the opportunity to buy the designs on show.
Following the success of last year, the advice centre, linked to the fashion stage, will offer expert advice and solutions on a whole host of queries on skiing and snowboarding.
Over 150 exhibitors including leading tourist boards, tour operator, ski resorts, airlines and ski and snowboard retailers will be at the show, offering discounts, competitions and advice on the latest innovations and technical equipment.
The midweek themed evenings will host ski races down the main slope whilst themed bars and food will recreate a lively apres-ski atmosphere.
The 1998 Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show is at Olympia 30 Oct-8 Nov and is open from 12-9.30pm weekdays, 10-7pm on weekends.
