‘Take Away’ Child Hunger This Curry Week

‘Take Away’ Child Hunger This Curry Week

Brits won’t need much convincing to order an Indian takeaway for National Curry Week (8-14 October), but with 10p from every Indian order made from hungryhouse.co.uk going to charity, you might decide to order even more.

International humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger has teamed up with takeaway website hungryhouse.co.uk to get child hunger off the table in a delicious way – you order, they donate. With hundreds of thousands of orders processed each month and over 4,000 Indian restaurants to choose from, hungryhouse is certain this initiative will have a great impact on Action Against Hunger’s humanitarian goals.

Action Against Hunger’s Corporate Fundraising Manager, Lizzie Carter, says: “Action Against Hunger is delighted that hungryhouse.co.uk has chosen to support our Love Food Give Food appeal to get child hunger off the table. It couldn’t be easier to get involved – by simply ordering an Indian takeaway, people will be taking action to help save lives. This initiative will raise vital funds and awareness of child hunger across the globe, so a huge thank you to hungryhouse.co.uk for all its support.”

Action Against Hunger’s Love Food Give Food appeal is set to transform the lives of over 100,000 children in Liberia, Niger and Burkina Faso. And with a focal point around a shared love for food, Love Food Give Food has drawn support from a wide range of foodies across the UK, including renowned chef and Michelin star restaurant owner Raymond Blanc, who is the official Love Food Give Food ambassador.

“It’s great to see that all parts of the food industry are getting involved. This campaign is another way for the British public to easily show their support.”

By adding an optional £1 donation to your bill at participating restaurants or ordering a curry online at hungryhouse, Love Food Give Food has made donating to charity easy, fun, and appetising.

“The name says it all,” comments hungryhouse CMO Graeme Horne. “Love Food Give Food makes it incredibly easy for food lovers to get involved and do what they do best – enjoy food.”

So tuck into a curry, or wine and dine at a participating restaurant and you can help take child hunger off the table. To find out more, visit hungryhouse.co.uk/aah.
