Milly and the Minotaur Queen

Milly and the Minotaur Queen’s presents London premiere and first UK tour of heartwarming children’s play  The Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch, is thrilled to present the London premiere of Milly and the Minotaur in a new Queen’s Theatre for Young Minds production from Tuesday 15 – Thursday 17 April.

Ideal for kids aged 6 – 11, this perfect Easter treat by Philip Michell will be performed in five shows by the Queen’s professional resident company of actor-musicians cut to the chase….

The company also recently launched the production’s very first UK tour – from 17 March – 10 April. More than 2,000 youngsters will enjoy the production as it tours primary schools and venues across London, Essex, Hertfordshire and Reading.

Milly is 9 and ill in hospital but she is lucky because she has the ‘best Gran in the world’ (who secretly fancies the doctor!) But ssh don’t tell anyone! Hospitals can be scary old places, especially at night, with what seems like a labyrinth of corridors. But just when things get tough, Milly is helped through the worst times by her secret friend. It just so happens that her secret friend is a Minotaur!

Philip Michell’s magical tale of courage, hope and friendship comes alive with plenty of song, dance and colourful costumes, even featuring some original music.

The Queen’s Theatre for Young Minds productions have entertained and educated thousands of youngsters over the years, with recent successes including Hansel and Gretel, The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling and Olivia Twist.

Milly and the Minotaur stars cut to the chase… actor-musicians Gilian Cally, Kenny Davies, Sam Ward-Smith and Kerry Gooderson. Direction is by Queen’s Education and Outreach Manager Patrick O’Sullivan, with design by Rodney Ford, musical composition and direction by Andrew Linham and choreography by Matt Dunphy.

Milly and the Minotaur will be performed at the Queen’s Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch on Tuesday 15 – Thursday 17 April. Tickets cost just £6.50. Call the Box Office on 01708 443333 or visit www.queens-theatre.co.uk.
